Territorial Study on Seniors in Saint-Laurent du Maroni – CCAS

The Communal Center for Social Action (CCAS) of Saint-Laurent du Maroni commissioned Primo-Studio Guyane to conduct a major field survey aimed at identifying the needs of elderly people in several key neighborhoods of the municipality.

This in-depth territorial study was carried out in the sectors of Vampire, Baca-Lycée, Les Orchidées, and other strategic areas of Saint-Laurent du Maroni, with the objective of better understanding seniors' expectations, identifying priority issues, and delivering a quantitative study based on more than 100 individual interviews conducted directly in the field.

The CCAS of Saint-Laurent du Maroni wanted to have a clear and updated vision of the specific needs of elderly people in its territory. Faced with demographic and social challenges, it was necessary to:

• Map the real needs of seniors in different neighborhoods

• Identify priority issues (isolation, access to healthcare, mobility, services...)

• Collect reliable quantitative data to guide public policies

• Understand the expectations and suggestions of senior residents

• Have a survey methodology adapted to the local context
